We're thrilled to announce that the #BeActive Cyprus Youth Rapid Chess Championship 2023 is happening on September 30, 2023, as part of the exciting #BeActive week. And guess what? It's a fantastic collaboration with our friends at the Sia Municipality, making it even more special.

Tournament Details:

Here's what you need to know:

• Format: We're using a 7-round Swiss system, so get ready for some thrilling games.
• Time Control: Each game will have a brisk 15 minutes for the entire match, with a cool 3-second increment from move 1.
• Tiebreaks: If things get super competitive (and they probably will), we'll use tiebreaks in this order: Buchholz cut 1, Buchholz, Sonneborn Berger, and Greater number of victories.

The Venue:

We're thrilled to host the event at the Palia Ilektriki. It's the perfect setting for a day of chess, fun, and learning.

The Schedule:

We've got a day packed with chess excitement:

• Registration and Player Check-In start at 9 AM sharp.
• The first round kicks off at 2 PM, so be there with your game face on!
• The grand finale - the award ceremony - happens right after the final round. And guess what? We've got prizes for everyone, so stick around and celebrate your achievements!

• What's more, each winner in their category will also be crowned the prestigious Cyprus Youth Rapid Champion of their age group!
